Short Answer Questions
During the application, you will be prompted to answer the following questions. Please take time to prepare your answers in advance. We recommend you save your answers in a separate document in case of internet/browser errors.
  1. Wilderness Crew members are expected to work on very difficult projects in remote locations. Why do you want to return to the corps rather than working an easier job?
  2. What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses?  What will you do to overcome your weaknesses?
  3. A portion of the Youth Program requires learning about the environment and the community.  What would you like to learn about, and why?
  4. Joining the Conservation Corps means making a commitment to finish what you start, and being able to honor that commitment.   Describe a time you kept your word, even though it was really difficult.
  5. What unique perspective will you bring to the Conservation Corps?  (Examples could include your life experiences, special interests, culture, skills, etc.)
  6. The Summer Youth Corps is a residential program. This means you will be living with your crew while in the program, and you will be away from your home for the entire month. How will you meet this challenge?
